Partners
UNFPA recognizes that, in order to achieve sustainable development and poverty alleviation in Nepal, and to reach the overarching goals set forth in the
International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the
Millennium Development Goals, a concerted effort by many partners is essential.
By partnering with government agencies, donor organizations, international and national non-governmental and local organizations, other UN agencies, and the media UNFPA increases its impact in Nepal and works towards the worldwide collaborative effort of meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
Joint partnerships, coordination, consultation, planning, knowledge exchange and lessons learned that result from collaboration, allow UNFPA to more efficiently and effectively contribute to its population, reproductive health and gender projects and sustainable development strategies.
To improve the coverage of UNFPA supported activities and to enhance synergy with activities of other funding agencies, UNFPA Nepal builds strong partnerships with multilateral and bilateral donors and the local and international NGOs/ Volunteer Involving Organizations and private sector. UNFPA cannot effectively address reproductive health, population and development and gender issues in Nepal alone. Coherent and coordinated effort is necessary.
UNFPA, the Government, local governance institutions, and partner agencies conduct joint monitoring, reviews and evaluations, using participatory methods that involve local partners (such as civil society organizations) and primary stakeholders for checks and balance. UNFPA tracks
6th Country Plan's (CPAP) indicators and help to monitor and evaluate
United Nations Development Assistance Framework's (UNDAF) outcomes together with the UN Country Team (UNCT). The Fund strives to consolidate partnerships with donors, harness additional resources from international and bilateral agencies, including volunteer involving organisations and seek opportunities for joint programming with other UN organizations.
